Top MMA FIGHTERS OF ALL TIME: INTRO

The following rankings are how I would rate the top fighters in the world. I have taken into account that some fighters maybe overly hyped (ie Mark Coleman and Ken Shamrock). These fighters are usually ranked higher (i.e. Mark Coleman, Randy Couture) due to their icon like status, but I tried to look at their overall body of work and not just their name recognition.

Along the way I probably missed one, two, or three fighters, but I tried to make the list as inclusive as I possibly could.

Some fighters like Rickson Gracie are difficult to rank because of his limited body of work. Also mma has evolved a great deal from the early years as rules have changed and weight classes added.
